British Embassy Paris
Sand & Seal
Project summary :
We were contracted to refurbish the wooden floors at this almost 300 year old residence in Paris just yards away from the Eleyse Palace.
Carpets had covered the old floor boards of this annex building of the British embassy. Upon removal the design team realised they had 100+ year old oak floorboards and although shrunken and in some places discoloured, they were sound and in great condition.
After de-nailing and shoring up sections where boards had failed, we stripped the floors back to raw and polished up. We primed the floors with Junckers Rustic Oil to ensure the exceptionally dry timbers were brought back to life and less chance of overlapping occurred. We then applied 3no applications of Junckers HP Sport satin lacquers to provide a robust finish.
